Hurley completely in ICE

Hi to all of you!

Last Saturday there was a phonecall from the harbour. The statement was all of the water in the harbour would disappear because of the amount of ice in the river. They would open something (don't know the english word) downstream in the river which would lower the waterlevel with approx. 3 meters. Since there is only 2.5 meters under Isolde I had to go and have a look.

Forunately they didn't do it so I had a nice day sanding the wood on the sides of the boat with a result to be proud of (at least that's what I think)

Finally Sailing

For the first time, finally sailing with some decent winds.
It was approx 4 Bft and the first time the boat had to heel over :) Started with the main only, but after an hour I got enough self-convidence that I decided to add the genua.
No more writing, yust pictures :)

Sewing on the machine

Yesterday my wife needed to work so I got the time to install the sewing machine and start sewing (what else should you do when your wife is not at home!

Finally, Water on board

Finally, after lots of less interesting searches we have a sink and running water in the boat. Other things have also been worked at

Snow is falling down

It has been snowing in the Netherlands for the last few weeks! The result is lots of ice (in stead of water) and lots of snow on the boat.
She has never been this white :)

The scanning of all the documents is little behind. Due to travel, illness and other things you have to do (mandatory :))

Hope to scan some images within the next two weeks so I can pblish this information.

The first documents

Hi to all of you. Unfortunately it's to cold to sail here in Holland so I took the time to scan some of the material which I got last week. While on skype with Timothy Sharman we selected the most interesting materials.

Treasures from the past

I think I have to continue in english :)
Yesterday I received two ordners from a dutch guy who got these ordners from his (unfortunately passed away) dad. (Mr. Baya sr.)

Schatten uit het verleden

Na de storm en flinke regenval van de afgelopen dagen ben ik maar even bij mijn project gaan kijken om te zien of alles nog in goede staat in de haven dreef.

Weer een keer een weekendje klussen

Op vrijdagavond ben ik naar de boot toegegaan en heb ik veel werk verzet.
Als eerste het 3-kleuren Toplicht gemaakt bleek een geoxideerde doorvoer te zijn die ervoor zorgte dat het lampje niet ging branden.

Stormschade

Afgelopen weken/maanden is er nog maar bar weinig van het klussen gekomen. Aan de ene kant omdat we liever een stukje varen, aan de andere kant omdat het vanwege privé omstandigheden moeilijk is om wat vrije tijd te vinden.
